Local film critics, podcasters and general nerdy cinematic ramblers, FakeShemp.Net are presenting what they’ve dubbed a ‘Splat n’ Slash’ double-feature tonight at The Backlot Studios, as part of this year’s Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF). You catch the director’s cut of modern maestro of gore, Marcus Koch’s 100 TEARS along with the cult 1990 Aussie slasher BLOODMOON, together on the very same bill. The screening will also feature a video introduction by Koch prior to 100 TEARS and the infamous theatrical “Fright Break” has been restored to BLOODMOON…what a time to be alive and living in Melbourne.

The show kicks off at 8pm tonight with tickets available at the door or you can book prior right here. Here’s a little something on both films to whet your appetite for bloodshed!

100 TEARS (2007)
After being accused of crimes he did not commit, a lonely circus performer exacts his revenge on those who unjustly condemned him. The act sparks something inside of him which he cannot stop and now, years later, his inner-demons have truly surfaced. Part urban legend, part tabloid sensationalism… he is now an unstoppable murderous juggernaut, fuelled only by hate. Going to the circus will never be the same!

BLOODMOON (1990)
Under the blood red moon, love and grisly murder takes place at a private girls’ school when a maniacal killer transforms their world into a living nightmare. Students disappear mysteriously and the entire community is plunged into a spine-jolting ordeal of unforgettable horror. Bloodmoon is a chilling suspense-thriller that will thrust you a step beyond your darkest fears.

MUFF runs until Saturday September 17th, for line-up and ticketing details, please visit the festival site.
