MELBOURNE UNDERGROUND FILM FESTIVAL Announce 2016 Program
Yesterday, Melbourne Underground Film Festival (MUFF) launched their 2016 program with the proposition to ‘make the Australian film industry great again.’ Now in its seventeenth year, MUFF runs for nine days from Friday the 9th to Saturday the 17th of September across two venues, The Alex Theatre and its spiritual home, The Backlot Studios. Boasting fourteen features, five shorts programs and an academy, the festival will host the world premiere of THE PERFECT NONSENSE, directed by Addison Heath (Under A Kaleidoscope), as the opening night film.
Other highlights include the Australian premiere of Mark Savage’s STRESSED TO KILL, the latest feature from MURDERDROME director Daniel Armstrong, SHEBORG MASSACRE, a repertory double-feature curated by local film critic crazies, FakeShemp.Net and the closing night feature from writer/director Nathan Hill (Tomboys), REVENGE OF THE GWEILO.
