Another SHARKNADO is coming and it has a title thanks to Twitter!
SHARKNADO was a social media sensation, while the ratings for SyFy didn’t reflect that it was still a highly talked about film and people are still talking about it. The Asylum are still promoting the film and if you visit their site the featured trailer is SHARKNADO.
Well, there is a sequel coming and it now has a title! But get this, SyFy asked fans on twitter to tweet their sequel names and the best one would be chosen as the official title for the film. It makes sense they’d go to twitter, and the fans have indeed spoken.
The winning title is SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE
This was selected from 5000 or so entries, apparently yes that was the best one. Thomas Vitale the executive VP of programming at SyFy made this statement “Since Twitter played such a huge role in the success of the original movie, we wanted to use that platform to ask our fans to name Sharknado 2. This response is another reminder of how Sharknado has become a pop culture phenomenon. We want to thank all our viewers for their wonderful contributions to keeping up the shark-mentum.”
SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE will once again be an Asylum production and it is expected to have a release date of July next year.
