You may not know Drew Struzan by name but I guarantee you know his work. He is one of the most prolific movie promo artists, from Star Wars to Indiana Jones to Back To The Future. Those amazing posters and cover art you see for them, that is his work.
The man has had a very long career and it hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows, there is a documentary coming out about the man and it looks fantastic.
DREW: THE MAN BEHIND THE POSTER has been in development for quite some time and the trailer is now making its way around the interwebs. You must check it out, if you are a fan of his work or just art in general, this is going to be something super special.

DREW: THE MAN BEHIND THE POSTER is a feature-length documentary exploring the life and work of Drew Struzan, the artist who created the posters for some of the most iconic movies of the past 30 years, including “Indiana Jones,” “Back to the Future” and “Star Wars,” among many others. Director Erik P. Sharkey tells the story of this distinctive artist, beginning with his early works in commercial and album cover art for Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath, to his acclaimed career and recent retirement as one of the most recognizable and influential movie poster artists of all time. The film features exlusive interviews with noted filmmakers, artists and critics including George Lucas, Harrison Ford, Michael J. Fox, Frank Darabont, Guillermo del Toro, Steven Spielberg, and many others.
