RIP Karen Black (1939-2013)

It is with great sadness to report that wonderful actress Karen Black has passed away. Karen had been fighting a long battle with ampullary cancer, she passed at the age of 74.

Her husband Stephen Eckelberry made the following statement via his Facebook page.

It is with great sadness that I have to report that my wife and best friend, Karen Black has just passed away, only a few minutes ago. Thank you all for all your prayers and love, they meant so much to her as they did to me.

She had a great career and appeared in many films, perhaps her most memorable films include FIVE EASY PIECES, EASY RIDER, NASHVILLE, THE GREAT GATSBY, HOUSE OF A 1000 CORPSES, TRILOGY OF TERROR and COME BACK TO THE FIVE AND DIME, JIMMY DEAN, JIMMY DEAN.

The legacy she has left behind will be around for others to discover and enjoy.
