So I guess for better or worse, there are those of us out there curious to see Spike Lee’s version of OLDBOY. For me I just want to see it out of pure curiosity, I don’t actually believe it will add anything new to the original film or be better than it.
The idea of this getting an American remake still feels very weird, but the film is coming and it wont be too long until we get to see it and judge for ourselves how we feel.
If anyone is curious a new clip has surfaced, simply titled Preparing […]
You may have heard about the long gestating DRACULA 3D film from Dario Argento, starring non other than Rutger Hauer as Van Helsing.
The film is apparently screening in some places overseas next month, and a new official trailer has popped up. It will no doubt get the direct to DVD/Blu-ray treatment here, if and when it makes its way out here.
So what does this one look like? Well it can’t be described, you will have to see it for yourself. It does look like it will be worth watching, probably for all the wrong reasons though. And to […]

After seeing and loving the first film, and wanting a sequel, I can understand how this may work as a series, even though I haven’t seen the second yet. Will this go […]

Are films about Mars the in thing again? They just might be with LAST DAYS ON MARS, a new sci-fi/thriller that stars Liev Schreiber and Elias Koteas.
The track record isn’t the best for Mars films, anyone remember MISSION TO MARS? Wow that was uhh not very good, so here’s hoping this one has something to offer. A teaser trailer has been released, and there is some hope in there, looks intriguing so far.
This one has a synopsis that feels very typical, but hey there might just be some good surprises in there.
Here at The Monsters Eye we aim to bring you news and info on upcoming genre films, and one has popped up on our radar, its called RITUAL.
It is a film from the After Dark Originals 2 series, marking a directorial feature debut from Mickey Keating. This one does sound rather interesting, and it got our attention because a pretty sweet one sheet has debuted.
You can check that out below, and you can scope out the synopsis for the details.
SYNOPSIS: The radio blares a 24-hour Halloween Weekend Fright Fest as Tom Moses drives deeper and deeper into
The noonday Fort Ilocandia sun was blinding on the top of the sand dune. I squinted and adjusted the brim of my already-soaked safari helmet, looking to the rest of the Philippines like a wet, tubby Stanley Livingstone, as my co-producer Dani, in his Arab-looking scarf less a tattooed Sancho Panza than a Polish Lawrence of Arabia, snapped my photo on his iPhone. Big Jim Gaines, our six-foot-plus African-American-Filipino kumpadre, was at the bottom of the dune with hand against his beret surveying the cracked, dried mud and that summer’s vain attempt to make the desert come alive.
