WALKING DEAD to get a companion + Will we get a new MORTAL KOMBAT film?
Alright folks, we have two news pieces here for you.
So for fans of THE WALKING DEAD and we know there are probably a stack of you, AMC announced it is going to develop a companion series. The spin off of sorts is on aim for 2015, and it will be set in the same universe as THE WALKING DEAD but it will have different characters and location.
Sounds like a good idea if they want to expand the universe and show how a different group manage with the zombie apocalypse. The new series will be from Robert Kirkman and executive producers Gale Anne Hurd and Dave Alpert.
Kirkman had this to say: “Building on the success of the most popular show on television for adults 18-49 is literally a no-brainer. We look forward to working with Robert, Gale and Dave again as we develop an entirely new story and cast of characters. It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse. After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.”
Now on to MORTAL KOMBAT news, I am sure some of you are aware the webseries LEGACY is going to debut Season 2 next week. The webseries has been a hit, it’s been really interesting and fun to watch. I am looking forward to the next season, and this has brought Kevin Tancharoen in the spotlight.
He spoke to ComingSoon and stated that as far as a feature film goes, it’s in the works. It will likely be a fresh reboot, the script is getting worked on and once its in good shape, things should get rolling. A budget and locations are being looked at, so early stages but it looks promising.
You can look for the new season of Legacy on Sept 26th at Machinima.
