The Monsters Eye,

Have you seen the trailer for THE FROZEN GROUND? It’s about a real life serial killer!

We here are always on the look out for interesting and bizarre looking films. THE FROZEN GROUND fits the bill, because a) it is based on a real life serial killer and b) it stars CON AIR alum John Cusack and Nic Cage! Basically anything with Nic Cage these days is bizarre … or his hair generally is.

What camp of real life serial killer does this fall under? Is it respectful to what happened and to the real victims? Is it basic exploitation? Offensive? Or just a really bad film? Very curious to find out though, surely it can’t be anywhere near as bad as DAHMER VS GACY.

So have you heard of Robert Hansen? The man was pretty messed up and went unnoticed for several years. Check out the synopsis and the trailer.

Synopsis: “The Frozen Ground” is inspired by the incredible true story that follows Alaskan State Trooper Jack Halcombe (Nicolas Cage) as he sets out to end the murderous rampage of Robert Hansen (John Cusack), a serial killer who has gone unnoticed for 13 years. As the bodies of street girls start to pile up in Anchorage, fear strikes a chord with the public. Risking his life, Halcombe goes on a personal manhunt to find the killer before the next body surfaces. When a seventeen year old escapee (Vanessa Hudgens) reveals key information about the case, Halcombe is finally on the trail of the killer. But will he catch him in time to save the next victim?

Will this be classic Cage or a bit better than his usual work? Will Cusack be a convincing serial killer? Looking forward to checking this out!
