We here at Monster Pictures are no stranger to controversy, and censorship issues. In a way it sometimes feels like we are back in the 80’s again, with the mind set of those who wanted to ban just about everything!
Even the tame films back then were dubbed sadist and sick, films got to be known as VIDEO NASTIES. Are we in a new wave?
Well you can chime in on the discussion, at our special event VIDEO NASTIES: THE DEFINITIVE GUIDE, where the amazing documentary VIDEO NASTIES: MORAL PANIC, CENSORSHIP AND VIDEOTAPE will be screened.

The internet blew up yesterday after Clive Barker made the announcement about a HELLRAISER remake indeed going ahead. Clive stated he was writing the script based on his treatment and that Doug Bradley would return as Pinhead.
Well apparently Doug Bradley had no idea! So Clive may have gotten ahead of himself, Doug took to Facebook (where else) to comment on Clive’s post.
Hi everyone!
Just arrived in Orlando for Spooky Empire, to be greeted by the news via FearNet and Clive Barkers Facebook that he is writing a new Hellraiser script and intends that I should play Pinhead again.
In quite possibly the strangest and maybe the most awesome news of the week, the much talked about HELLRAISER remake/reboot is in fact going ahead.
However the film is bringing along two very big names involved with the franchise.
Dimension and Weinstein have long been developing this film, and at one point Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer were attached to the project. But now it seems that the right blend for this reboot has been found with Clive Barker and Doug Bradley!
I am not shitting you fiends, the two big important names will be returning, with Clive writing the […]
